2.2- Assignment (Unit 4): Developing a 3 Year Management Plan for the Sustainability for Your Site

Working alongside Ernest Cook Trust and the other member of staff completing this course, a 3 year management plan was developed for the sustainability for our site.

Using the information found in our Phase one survey and ecological impact matrix we were able to complete based on the graph below.

The Working Plan for The Parks Plantation Woodland aims to: 

• Maintain a safe and accessible learning environment to be used by ECT and Trent Young’s Primary School 

• Create a healthy age profile for trees with a range tree ages 

• Maintain dead wood where possible to provide a habitat for fungi and invertebrates 

• Maintenance of woodland structure to increase biodiversity and promote natural regeneration 

• Provide habitats for certain priority species such as hedgehogs, birds and bats 

• Ensure an economic return where possible (through selling coppiced wood)
